Discovery Commons, Faculty of Medicine
Discovery Commons aims to provide technology solutions and support for teaching, administrative and research activities in the Faculty. Some of their services include: BlackBoard training, web-site design, course web-site development, etc.
Gerstein Science Information Centre
This University's flagship library supports the sciences and health sciences. Their services include: curriculum related instruction - on request, they will prepare and present classes to fit your requirements; consultations - by appointment, staff meet with faculty to discuss any research issue; and access to online, health science and education journals.
Office of Teaching Advancement (OTA)
The Office of Teaching Advancement offers a wide range of programs and services to assist all faculty at the University of Toronto enhance their teaching skills.
Resource Centre for Academic Technology (RCAT)
The mandate of the Resource Centre for Academic Technology (RCAT) is to facilitate access to effective teaching, learning and research strategies using computer technologies. Their services to the University's faculty, staff and graduate students include individual and project consultation, delivery of seminars and workshops, provision of lab facilities, and dissemination of information on topics related to academic technology. RCAT advises the University on trends and best practices related to the implementation of emerging technologies in teaching and learning. To support this the staff at RCAT are involved in research of exemplary practices, evaluation of existing software and development of new technology-based services to support teaching and learning.
Standardized Patient Program (SPP)
Standardized patient educators with
the University of Toronto SPP have a wealth of collective teaching
experience at all levels of training - including post-graduate and
continuing education with practicing clinicians. Our time-honoured methods
of delivering immersive, experiential educational programs and workshops are
theoretically grounded. We consolidate the use of simulation for education
with immediate constructive feedback and collaborative inquiry. Teaching is
adjusted to the needs of individual learners or groups.
John P. Robarts Research Library
This University library supports the humanities and social sciences. All University of Toronto faculty members interested in obtaining a library card and access to online journals must do so through the TCard
Office located in Robarts.
